ABOUT
In 1998, a group of theatre enthusiasts founded ActOut Theatre Group, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky. As a non-profit organization run by volunteers, ActOut is dedicated to sharing their love for theatre with the community. With the aim of producing three shows per year, ActOut is an enthusiastic and active theatre group that simply loves what they do.
The ActOut Theatre Group is committed to education through the creation and presentation of high-quality, impactful LGBTQIA+ theater. Their productions celebrate the aesthetics, stories, and spirit of the community in a positive, supportive, and nonjudgmental way. ActOut strives to foster an inclusive environment where all members of the acting community are welcomed and encouraged to participate in productions that explore and elevate LGBTQIA+ theme plays.

Thank you for your interest in auditioning or supporting ActOut Theatre Group productions! Before proceeding, we would like to share some important details about our organization: ActOut Theatre Group is a community-based, volunteer-driven non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) public charity status.
We do not provide monetary compensation or travel reimbursement for actors. Our shows typically run for five performances over a two-week period, and the director will provide specific dates during auditions. By participating in ActOut productions, you give us permission to use any photographs or videos of you for promotional purposes on our website and social media platforms, without any form of payment or compensation.

The fourth Del Shores Foundation Writers Search is open for submissions
from unproduced playwrights and screenwriters who identify as LGBTQ+ and
currently live in the South. Cash awards are given to the
semifinalists, finalists and winners and production grants accompany the
winning scripts to move their work toward production. For more
